South Station Rail & Bus Terminal
Opened in 1899 to replace four separate train terminals and to funnel their sprawling traffic to a single facility, South Station is a magnificent architectural expression of substance and style. South Station serves an important role in the region, hosting both train and intercity bus routes and moving millions of people annually.
JFK Presidential Library and Museum
This is the home repository of JFK’s presidential legacy. Sited on 10 acres next to the sea, the library and museum are alive with the sounds of the ocean and the reverberations of Kennedy’s life and presidency. The public comes to take stock of the country and its progress, to research mid-20th century politics, to relive a magical period in our nation’s history, and to sit by the sea.
Federal Reserve Bank
Boston’s Federal Reserve Bank occupies a distinctive building on Boston’s skyline. Two tall towers suspend the building above the ground, creating an unusual look which is well worth seeing.
Boston Children’s Museum
A great place to bring the family, the Children’s Museum has long been a favorite and was renovated in 2007 to expand and modernize its facilities. Kids of all ages will learn, play, and let off some steam in its many hands-on exhibits.
