Old North Church

Built in 1723, Old North Church is Boston’s oldest. A signal was placed in the church steeple to warn colonists of the British advancement to Lexington and Concord.

Copp’s Hill Burial Ground

Founded in 1659 and containing the remains of many notable Colonial-era Bostonian’s, Copp’s Hill Burial Ground is the second oldest cemetery in Boston after that at King’s Chapel.

North End/Little Italy

Originally home to some of Boston’s wealthiest merchants, the North End has been a hub of African American, Irish, Jewish, and now Italian life. It was also, in 1919, the site of the famous Great Molasses Flood.

For many decades the raised Central Artery divided the neighborhood from the rest of the city, but with the completion of the Big Dig and the demolition of the raised highway the North End has reunited with Boston. The North End is a thriving community with wonderful food, a rich street life, and architecture unique from the rest of Boston.
