Downtown Crossing/Blackstone Block

See several key historical sites and enjoy Downtown Crossing, New England’s largest shopping area and jewelry district. Choose from a variety of department stores, unique specialty shops, restaurants and helpful service businesses, all located in the heart of the city.

Nearby is the Blackstone Block, Boston’s oldest surviving commercial district. See classic examples of 17th century streets and alleys, along with architecture from the period.

King’s Chapel

Many notable Puritans and other early settlers are interred at King’s Chapel Burying Ground, Boston’s first and for several decades in the 1600s it’s only cemetery. King’s Chapel itself is a Unitarian congregation, the building having been erected in 1688 as the first Anglican Church in New England during the reign of King James II.

Old State House/Holocaust Museum

The Old State House is Boston’s oldest surviving public building, home to the New World’s first elected legislature, and site of a special visit by Queen Elizabeth II during the country’s bicentennial celebrations.

Appropriately sited just off the Freedom Trail, the New England Holocaust Memorial is an open air memorial with breathtaking glass towers.
